They utilize various diagnostic tests and procedures, such as endoscopy, colonoscopy and imaging studies, to evaluate and treat patients. Gastroenterologists may prescribe medications, recommend dietary changes, perform therapeutic procedures surgical interventions (such as laparoscopic surgery and liver transplantation) to improve patients' digestive health and quality of life.
