Nephrologists diagnose and manage a wide range of conditions, including chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, kidney stones, glomerular diseases, tubulointerstitial diseases, and inherited kidney disorders. They utilize various diagnostic tests and procedures, such as blood tests, urine tests, imaging studies, and kidney biopsies, to evaluate and treat patients. Nephrologists may prescribe medications, recommend lifestyle modifications, and provide renal replacement therapy (such as dialysis or kidney transplantation) to improve patients' kidney function and overall health.
